Huw Stephens


Huw Stephens became the youngest ever Radio 1 DJ when he was 17, and has been playing the best new music on the station ever since. A TV presenter from Glastonbury on BBC2, Sky Arts and Channel 4, he has DJ’d around the world from Barcelona to Venezuela.

Known to millions as the presenter on the weekend afternoon shows on BBC Radio 1, he also plays the best new music at night from 10pm, where he was the first to champion Haim, Bastille , Disclosure, Jake Bugg, Lorde, Rudimental, Wolf Alice and the 1975 amongst many more. Huw hosts sessions with new bands, and plays new music of all genres. He’s presented his show from South by South West for the BBC, and hosts the UK Music showcase. Huw hears new music from across the BBC Introducing network, which he plays on his popular Radio 1 Podcast.

Huw runs a live music night in London, curates the Lake Stage at Latitude and hosts the main stage at Reading Festival, DJ’ing between some of the biggest bands in the world.

Huw holds down the Radio 1 slot every Monday-Wednesday from 10pm-1am.
